Arthur H. Brown Jr., 89, of Baden, died Saturday, February 23, 2013, in his residence.

Born Aug. 1, 1923, in Ambridge, a son of the late Arthur H. and Elizabeth Blair Brown Sr., he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He retired from American Bridge and was a member of the Zion First Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge Ambridge, Baden Legion and Odd Fellows.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Smith Brown and a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Thomas Shearer, Beaver.

He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur H. Brown III; two brothers, Walter and Robert Brown and three sisters, Elizabeth Young, Mable Matzie and Margaret Morton.

Friends will be received in the GABAUER-MATTER FUNERAL HOME, 1133 Church St., Ambridge, today from 3 to 8 p.m. where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Cletus Fahrion will officiate.

Entombment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
